Using the Gainsight PX Chrome Extension

The Gainsight PX chrome extension is a plug-in for the Google Chrome browser that allows you to simulate the Gainsight PX installation.

This extension can be used if you want to try using Gainsight PX features & functionality against your web application without involving your engineering team to perform the necessary installation, documented here.

REMINDER: This is a plug in and only works on your local browser session.

1) Before you can use the PX Chrome extension, you'll need to have access to a PX Subscription, you can create one by signing up here.

2) Once you have access to your PX Subscription, you can go ahead and install the PX Chrome plugin. You should then see the plug-in on your toolbar.

3) As a final step, you will need to associate your plug-in with your PX Subscription by specifying the PX Product Key. You can manually enter the PX Product Key in or you can auto-populate it on to the chrome plugin using one of the below options:

OPTION 1

Go to Gainsight PX Product Mapper: https://app.aptrinsic.com/mapper and click on "Start Mapping"

This will auto-populate the Product Key:

OPTION 2

Append this to your web app's URL ?aptProductKey=[PRODUCTKEY]

For example, https://yourwebapp.com/home?aptProductKey=AP-WSD2B9GZQYIS-2

4) You can update the “Identify” fields in the PX Chrome Plugin with the following values:

User ID:  [optional]

First Name: [Enter your first name]

Last Name: [Enter your last name]

User email: [Enter your email]

Account ID: [optional]

Account Name: [auto-populated]

Then you'll click on "Track User".

Now, when you navigate through your web application, front end app events will be captured.The PX chrome plugin will also support the Product Mapping and creating and launching engagements in your chrome browser session!
